Elmhurst has been running an Associate programme in Birmingham since 2006
(formerly Pre-Vocational Programme) and in Manchester, Plymouth and Sunderland since 2011. The Associate
programme offers weekend dance classes to young dancers aged 8 to 11 year olds, engaging them with
dance and giving them a taste of Elmhurst's dance programme from experienced teachers. It is open to
children with no formal movement teaching as well as those already taking dance lessons (current dance
teacher's permission must be granted). Click here for more information.
Northern Ballet’s Associate training programme was established in 1998 and today attracts students from as far
afield as Glasgow, Birmingham and Liverpool. Students in the Associate Division are aged between 10 and 16
years old and currently contemplating a career in dance. The students attend regular weekly enhancement
classes at the Academy, in addition to their regular training elsewhere, to help prepare them for future full-time
vocational training. Click Here for more information.
